Toe Pain
Toe pain may result from a variety of factors, including footwear issues, injuries, nerve conditions, arthritis, cold exposure, or systemic illnesses. We frequently treat:
- Footwear-related Issues: Tight or poorly fitting shoes can cause corns, calluses, blisters, or even ulcers.
- Trauma: Injuries can lead to swelling, inflammation, or fractures.
- Nerve Injuries: Nerve compression between the metatarsal bones (such as in Mortonβs neuroma) can produce pain, numbness, or tingling.
- Arthritis: Degenerative joint disease affecting the toes.
- Cold Injury: Chilblains from exposure to cold or rapid rewarming.
- Gout: Uric acid crystal deposits in the toe joints.
We accurately assess and diagnose the source of your toe pain and recommend the appropriate treatments, such as removing corns or calluses, caring for blisters or ulcers, advising on footwear, providing toe props or orthoses, exercise programs, or strategies to maintain optimal toe warmth.
