Diabetes UK have reported that 39% of people with diabetes who responded to a survey had been refused blood glucose testing strips or had been given a restricted prescription. This is due to the finanicial constraints of the NHS with variation on prescription different parts of the country.
Restricting blood glucose testing strips may be putting peoples health at risk and increasing the risk of complications such as ulceration and amputations which are a massive financial burden to the NHS.
